Game Report: New Garden Friends vs Charlotte United Christian Academy Men/Boys Basketball

Seniors Ikenna Smart, Kanayo Obi-Rapu Jr. and Kane Ma completed their careers with a 69­­–67 victory over Charlotte United Christian Academy at the National Prep Championships in North Myrtle Beach on Saturday.

The Bears’ seniors helped mount a second-half comeback after being down by 11 points at halftime.

Smart, who just committed to the University of Buffalo, made seven out of his eight field-goal attempts finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Obi-Rapu Jr. finished with a game-high of 24 points and nailed a three-pointer in the final 20 seconds of the game to seal the victory.

Ma added seven points and junior guard Sterling Holland contributed 15 points.

The Bears placed fourth in the tournament after close losses to Our Savior New American, the 20th ranked team in the country, and Mount Zion Christian Academy. NGF beat Bull City Prep in the opening round.

The Bears ends their season at 17-12.
