Greensboro College Women’s Lacrosse Pride Women Run Past Wesley 12-6

GREENSBORO, NC—Kirstin Norris led the Pride women’s lacrosse team to their third straight victory on Wednesday afternoon defeating the Wolverines of Wesley College 12-6. Norris led Greensboro in points during the game, tallying five goals to go along with an assist.

Greensboro College was able to strike three straight times in the first period jumping out to a 3-0 halfway through the period. The Pride got goals by Kayla Gonzalez, Amira Khatib, and Norris during the run. However, Wesley was able to strike back with two unanswered goals cutting the Pride lead to 3-2. Once the Wolverines pulled to within one goal, Greensboro was able to score three more times before the break taking a 6-2 into intermission.

After the break, Wesley would tally first before Greensboro was able to pull out to an 11-3 lead following five unanswered goals. During the five goal span, four different Pride players were able to put their name in the books. Norris led the run with two goals while Alexa Besch, Nadaya Fedun, and Ashlynn Parks each added a goal.
The Wolverines they tallied two times before Greensboro scored their final goal of the game when Parks beat the Wesley keeper off the feed from Norris. Wesley tabbed one last goal in the game, but the Pride was able to pull out the 12-6 win.

The Pride held a 28-15 advantage in the shot category, and was able to draw even 26-26 in groundballs.

With the win, the Pride improves their overall record to 5-3 on the season, and will return to action on Friday afternoon when Randolph comes to town. The first draw is set for 3:00 PM on Pride Field.
