Patience paying off for freshman Weston Wilson(Wesleyan) at Clemson

Weston Wilson from Wesleyan has really been hanging in there….

from www.myorangeupdate.com:

CLEMSON, S.C. — Powered by Weston Wilson’s grand slam and five RBIs, No. 15 Clemson pounded Virginia Tech 12-2 on Saturday afternoon in front of a capacity crowd at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

With the grand slam, Wilson became the first Tiger to hit his second home run on the young season, an impressive feat for a player who is eight months removed from high school pitching.

The true freshman has drawn rave reviews from his skipper.
“He’s done a nice job for us,” head coach Jack Leggett said. “We’ve been kind of playing him against left-handed pitching. He can hit right-handed pitching, but it gives us another chance to play another guy with right-handers in there, so we got some depth. He’s a big factor and he’s going to be a good player for us, a really good player.”

*****You’ve got to be proud of this young man from Wesleyan Christian Academy in High Point and best of fortunes the rest of the way for Weston Wilson…..*****
