ACC loses N.C. State, State loses to Saint Louis and State will lose T.J. Warren too

Final:
St. Louis 83
N.C. State 80
(OT)

ACC team member N.C. State is gone…SLU is moving on and so is N.C. State’s T.J. Warren…He is on his way to the NBA and today/tonight will be his last flight in the Red and White…Warren was ‘Dynamite’ and I just wished he could have hit the last free, after his steal and late bucket…The over-the-line call was tough to take too….28 points and a great send-off to the NBA for Tony/T.J. Warren, like Tony Warren Jr.

  1. I don’t see how he can improve his stock by playing another year of college basketball…If he comes back there will be too much time for his game to be going backwards…

Maybe the talk is higher rated than the player, but I can only see him as a can’t-miss player going to the NBA in this year’s draft…

I have heard about all the players that will be coming out with Wiggins, Parker and more, but I think Parker could use another year of school and that if Warren comes back, he is just getting a year older while in college and that year could be spent developing his NBA game and picking up a nice NBA paycheck at the same time…

I would love to be wrong, but if he so intent on looking to leave after his freshman year and then he goes out and loses 30-40 pounds in the off-season and it pays off with the season that he had, he would appear to be messing up his career schedule if he came back….

I would say he would be crazy to come back for one more year, but this young man is not crazy, he just plays out of his mind….

I was sitting in my car and listening to the game on the radio when he made that steal late in the game last night and he cut the lead back to just one and if hits the free throw the game would have been tied up and I was just shaking my fist in jubilation and I just knew he would hit that free throw and State would then not be forced to foul and that the Pack would get a stop and Warren would still be in the game and he would hit the game-winner….

It didn’t happen that way as TJ was forced to commit the next foul himself after missing that free throw and that makes it look like it will be his last college game for N.C. State…

I was feeling some shades of ’83 all over again for a while last night…Used to listen to tons of those games back then in my car and it seemed to create a winning power for the Pack…

Did not happen last night, but this was a very successful season for the team from Raleigh…

The tide is high and Warren’s stock is so high that I can’t see him looking back or coming back to N.C. State….

The Pack staff needs to hit that recruiting trail and bring back some of that old Pack magic….

  2. if he leaves.. (i agree with your points).. we will see what kind of coach Gottfried is… He already has issues in raleigh (:

  3. My attitude is, you have to hit the recruiting trail hard now and sell the prospects on how great State did when they were not expected to be doing anything at all coming into this season, after all of the player losses and defections from the previous year…

Look what we did with what we had and if we had you, fill in the blank, just think where we will be in a couple of years….Kid we can make you the next T.J. Warren, a true team leader, ACC Player of the Year and a First Round NBA Draft pick….

You have to sell it hard and if Gottfried was gone and they still had Bobby Lutz, Whittenburg and at least two others to come in there with a solid head coach, they can do all right…..

And on more note…Based upon what Jordan Vandenburg did this season, in just one year, that guy was the ‘Deal of the Century’….He was unreal for just a year, after we had seen nothing at all from him in the previous…Deal or Steal of the Century….Give me a few more of those….

  4. My thought would be TJ coming back. I think he could use the next year to work on his outside game, which he struggled at this season shooting only like 23% or so. If he develops this part of his game him will be even harder to deal with in the future.

  5. Have to agree with Andy on this one, he would be crazy to come back! His stock will never be higher then it is right now. We never know what the future holds, he could come back next year and tear his acl and not even get drafted! You have to strike while the iron is hot, and that iron couldn’t be glowing any brighter.
