College Women’s Lacrosse Final – Guilford 16, Va. Wesleyan 7

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Eleanora Keene matched her career high with five goals and Lily Colley added three scores and five assists in Guilford College’s 16-7 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) lacrosse win over visiting Virginia Wesleyan College Saturday.

The Quakers (5-2, 3-0 ODAC) raced to a 14-0 lead before the Marlins (3-5, 1-2 ODAC) scored seven of the game’s final nine goals.
Keene scored four times and Colley had two goals and three assists in the first half. Becca Colley netted three of her four goals in the opening period, during which time the Quakers outshot the Marlins, 29-4.

Guilford won 22 of the game’s 25 draws, which helped the Quakers control possession. Keene and E’leyna Garcia (2 goals, 1 assist) both had seven draws. Sammi Milbourn made four saves in goal.

Carla Williams got the Marlins on the scoreboard 6:15 into the second half. She and Summer Moore both scored twice for Virginia Wesleyan. Goaltender Madison Carroll made nine saves.

Guilford hosts Farmingdale State Thursday (3/27) at 7:00 p.m.
