Elon Women’s Golf Finishes Seventh at John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. — A three-round score of 919 earned the Elon women’s golf team seventh place in the 16-team John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate. In Tuesday’s final round, the Phoenix followed up rounds of 308 and 300 with a 311.

Elon’s top finisher was Kelsey Badmaev who tied for 12th out of 90 players with a mark of 224 (75-73-76). She tallied one birdie in her final round and finished with six total birdies over her three rounds. Badmaev had 35 pars.

She was followed by Sunna Vidisdottir who carded a 229 (77-75-77) to tie for 22nd. Her nine birdies in the tournament were tied for the third-most by any player.

In a tie for 37th was Kathryn Buckingham. Buckingham ended the final day at 233 (76-78-79) and had three total birdies, including one during her final round.

Emily Brooks, who had 36 pars, placed in a tie for 43rd with a score of 235 (81-75-79). She also had two birdies over the three-day event.

Rounding out the field for the maroon and gold was Katie Partridge. Partridge placed 55th with a mark of 240 (80-77-83). She had three birdies.

Three players shared medalist honors as Campbell’s Kaylin Yost, Georgia State’s Maria Palacios and Georgia’s Amira Alexander all finished with a two-under 214.

Taking home the team title was Campbell which posted back-to-back rounds of 286 to finish at 876. Then came Georgia State (891), Troy (906) and Middle Tennessee State (907). Sharing fifth with a score of 912 were Mercer and Kennesaw State.
