GC Pride Baseball Rolls to 10-4 Victory Over LaGrange

ROCKY MOUNT, NC — The Greensboro College Pride baseball team wrapped up their three game series with LaGrange College on Sunday afternoon at the USA South Springs Sports Festival. The Pride offense exploded for a 10-4 victory in the contest.

LaGrange College jumped out to a early 3-0 lead on the Pride through the first three innings of play, but Greensboro College cut the deficit to 3-1 following a James Feldmann long ball to left field in the home half of the fourth inning of play.

The Pride were able to get a shut down inning in the top half of the fifth inning before putting seven more runs of the board in the bottom half of the inning pulling out to a 8-3 lead. Greensboro College was able to load the bases with one runner out in the bottom half of the inning for Feldmann who cleared the bases with a triple to right center scoring Cole Starke, J.P. Lisk, and Dylan Brown making the score 4-3. Following the Feldmann triple, Blake Throneburg found the RBI catagory with a single through the middle infield extending the Greensboro lead to 5-3.

Just two batters later, Cody York reached on a fielder’s choice allowing Throneburg to score bringing the lead to 6-3. Once York reached on the fielder’s choice, Dylan Brown put two more runs on the board with a two out single to left field plating Throneburg and Jon Krecicki extending the lead to 8-3. Greensboro College continued to add to the lead in the bottom half of the sixth inning when they pushed one run across extending the margin to 9-3.

The Panthers then found the board again in the seventh inning of play with one run making the score 9-4. However, it was Greensboro who was able to keep the bats alive in the Greensboro part of the inning. Dyalan Brown reached safely with one out after being hit by a pitch before Lisk tripled to right center field for the game’s final run.

James Feldmann who was just a double shy of the cycle collected three of the Pride’s ten hits on the day. Dylan Brown also had two hits on the day while seven other Greensboro players collected at least one hit. Drew Baranosky picked out his first career college win tossing the full nine innings of play. Baranosky allowed four runs in the game while only issuing two walks.

With the win, the Pride’s overall record improves to 5-26 overall and 3-20 in USA South play.
