Northwest Guilford becomes the last team standing in Guilford County High School Softball. They have now avenged two previous losses from earlier in the year (Reagan and West Forsyth from the strong Central Piedmont conference), and will be traveling to Indian Trail to face Porter Ridge on Tuesday.

Coach Teresa Fister has molded this young team into a real force on the field.

Late in the regular season conference stretch and for the first rounds of the playoffs, it seems that Staunton has taken on a greater portion of the pitching responsibilities.

The strong bats of Fahnestock, Richey, Spence and Tingler lead a very efficient offensive attack. The speed of the Langston sisters (Sarah and Katherine) serve to cover the outfield defensively (along with CF Richey), as well as keeping pressure on the opponents with their base running and slap hitting.

Although the starting lineup includes 6 sophomores, this team has matured quickly under Coach Fister’s mentorship.
