North Carolina’s Skye Bolt goes 3-for-5 with two RBIs as North Carolina snapped Maryland’s 11-game winning streak with a 13-7 victory.

The Terps are now 19-52 in ACC Tournament play while the Tar Heels are 74-66.

Maryland will play Georgia Tech in Sunday’s ACC Championship game at 1:00 p.m. … the sixth-seeded Terps will be making their first title game appearance since 1976 and second overall … the ninth-seeded Jackets will be the lowest-seeded team to earn a berth in the finals … Tech is 8-3 all-time in ACC title games with its last championship coming in 2012.
After hitting only 13 home runs during the regular season, Maryland has hit five in three ACC Tournament games.

North Carolina’s Michael Russell turned in his 23rd multi-hit game of the year with a 2-for-3, 2-RBI performance.

Maryland’s Kevin Martir’s third-inning home run was his second of the tournament, fourth of the season, and extended his hitting to a season-long nine games … over that nine-game span, the Brooklyn, N.Y., sophomore is hitting .500 (16-for-32) with two doubles, three home runs and 10 RBIs.

North Carolina’s Skye Bolt went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs … it was Bolt 11th multi-hit game the season.

Maryland second baseman Brandon Lowe went 2-for-4 and raised his season batting to .346 and moved into second place in the league’s batting race … Lowe has hit safely in 13 of his last 16 games.

Eight of the nine Terp starters had at least one hit, including four with two hits.

North Carolina’s Reilly Hovis improved his record to 8-1 on the year with an inning and 2/3 shutout relief.
