Senior Matt Roberts pitched a scoreless seventh inning to pick up his first win of the year and third of his career.

In becoming the lowest seed to win the ACC Tournament, the ninth-seeded Yellow Jackets pounded out seven doubles against five Terp pitchers, tying for the second most in ACC Tournament history.

In five ACC Tournament games, Georgia Tech batted .306, turned nine double plays and did not committ an error.

With his second-inning home run, Maryland shortstop Blake Schmit became the fourth player to hit his first home run of the season during this year’s ACC Tournament … Schmit has hit safely in 18 of his last 23 games.

After hitting only 13 home runs in 53 regular season games, Maryland hit six in four ACC Tournament games.
