Post 45 Randodlph County 6…(12 Innings)
Zach Burke got the start and pitched well for Post 81….Clay Young got the start for Post 45, but he did not take the loss….Post 45 down 6-4 and tied the game up in the 9th inning to send the contest into extra innings…

From Guilford County you had Cameron Gardner, Zach Canada and Tommy Michaels out there from Southeast Guilford for Post 81/ER and for Post 45/RC you had Kyle Smith, Clay Young, Zach LaBranche and Jalen Surgeon….Smith, LaBranche and Surgeon from Grimsley and Young from Caldwell Academy….

This was one long and tough game with the game beginning at 1pm and ending right before 5pm…..Brady Wright pitched well for Post 45 in relief and the Daniels kid from RC hit the ball well and Burke had a field day at the plate for Post 81…Burke was tearing it up at the plate along with Bryson Beck from ER, while Reece Daniel was the big man for Randolph County….Cam Gardner also had two hits for ER….

ER moves on to play Winston-Salem starting this Sunday night at WS….RC Post 45 will be in the American Legion Southeast Regional beginning in early August….

One heck of a game today and they had the lineup protest that halted play for nearly an half hour going toward the Top of the 10th Inning…

from the Asheboro Courier-Tribune:
“I don’t know if I’ve seen a series as quite as competetive like that,” ER coach Jerry Kidd said after his team posted its third win on the road in the first-round series. “The visiting team wins every game. I don’t know if I ever saw that before and to have the fifth and deciding game go extra innings. They have a good team. We couldn’t beat them even once in the regular season and to win the series… We’re elated.”
