Elon Announces Football Game Times, Lands Three TV Games

ELON, N.C. – Elon University athletics today announced the times for its 12-game football schedule for the fall of 2014, its first season as a member of CAA Football. Three of Elon’s games will be included in CAA Football’s television package.

The Phoenix’s home slate features non-league games against both North Carolina A&T and Charlotte as well as home conference bouts with New Hampshire, Stony Brook, Richmond and Maine.

Head coach Rich Skrosky will lead the Phoenix on to the field for the first time on Aug. 30 as the maroon and gold will visit Duke for a 6 p.m. contest which will be broadcast on ESPN3.

After a bye week, Elon’s home opener will come against the Aggies of N.C. A&T on Sept. 13. This game has been set for a 6 p.m. kickoff. At halftime of that game, the department will recognize those inducted into the Elon Sports Hall of Fame.

The next Saturday, Sept. 20, Elon will play host to Charlotte on Family Weekend at 7 p.m. in a game televised on the American Sports Network (ASN).

Following Elon’s visit to Coastal Carolina for a 6 p.m. contest on Sept. 27, New Hampshire visits Rhodes Stadium as the Phoenix will play its first-ever CAA Football tilt on Community Day on Oct. 4. That game will kick at 1:30 p.m.

On Oct. 11, Elon visits Delaware for a 3:30 p.m. contest.

In another 1:30 p.m. kick, Elon will host Stony Brook for Homecoming on Oct. 18.

Elon’s final two home games will both start at 3 p.m. On Oct. 25, Elon welcomes Richmond to Rhodes Stadium on Live Pink weekend. The home finale will come on Nov. 15 against Maine. That day will be Senior Day as well as Military Appreciation Day.

The Phoenix’s final three road games come at Towson on Nov. 1 in a 4 p.m. game, at William & Mary at 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 8 and at James Madison for a 12 p.m. contest on Nov. 22. Elon’s game at W&M will be broadcast on Comcast SportsNet (CSN), while the tilt at JMU will air on ASN.
