‘Inside the Storm’:Intra-squad scrimmage Saturday with the Southern Guilford Storm

There was a key intra-squad scrimmage today, featuring the offense vs. the defense, from the Southern Guilford Storm…

Here is our look ‘Inside the Storm’ with our Storm insider…

The Storm offense were working on 3/4 of a cyclinder…The running game was solid with Reggie Gallaspy able to impose his will on the defense…

Gallaspy scored almost every time he touched the ball. Amon Harris also contributed offensively scoring two touchdowns, one on a bubble screen and the other on a post corner….

QB Nathan Stoner made some tough throws completing approximately 8-15 passes…Harris was Stoner’s primary target…

Defensively, the Storm looked great anchored by Melo Herbin, Garrett Venable and Gallaspy, from the Mike LB position…

Quarterback Stoner did well against the first team defense with only one INT, to Amon Harris…

As for the JV, the defense is way ahead of the O….They have a bright future….The JV D also laid some wood against the first team Varsity offense…

Room for improvement:The Storm needs to find a team leader in a hurry…Many of the young men are leading by example, but they need to be more vocal, especially with such a young team….They only have 5 seniors…The O-line needs to get to work in a hurry, to protect Stoner and Gallaspy…If they can focus on those two needs, the Storm will be fine….

With the loss of key receiver Kenyon Taylor, someone will have to step up and be the ‘go-to’ guy…..

Defensively the Storm is solid. I expect the Storm to finish at the top of the conference…

And that’s the word on the Saturday intra-squad scrimmage at Southern Guilford, as we go ‘Inside the Storm’, with our “Storm Insider”….
