High Point Men’s Golf Schedule Announced

HIGH POINT, N.C. – High Point University men’s golf coach Greg Flesher announced the 2014-15 schedule on Wednesday. The fall season will be highlighted with tournaments hosted by Louisville and South Carolina while the Panthers will play a challenging local schedule in the spring.

“I am very thrilled to have such a great schedule this year for our team,” Flesher said. “We will be tested in so many ways and we will have young team out there competing against teams from the ACC, SEC, Big 10 and Big 12. I am thrilled and excited to see how our players can stack up against that level of competition.”

The Panthers will open the season at the Joe Agee Invitational hosted by William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va. on Sept. 15 and 16. High Point won the Joe Agee Invitational two years ago. HPU will travel to Kentucky for the Cardinal Invitational hosted by Louisville at the end of the September.

In October HPU will play at the Donald Ross Intercollegiate hosted by Appalachian State and the Camden Collegiate Invitational hosted by South Carolina. HPU has placed in the top seven at the Donald Ross in each of the last three seasons.

High Point will open the spring with a one-day tournament against UNC Greensboro at Legends Resort in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Feb. 15. In March the Panthers will play in three tournaments, beginning with the Bash at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, S.C., followed by the Cape Fear National Intercollegiate in Leland, N.C. and finally the C&F Bank Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Va.

For the 10th time in the last 11 years the Big South Championship will be played at the Patriot Golf Club in Ninety Six, S.C. on April 19-21.
