Football (0-1)
Elon Football Live Radio Show, Thursday, Sept. 4, at 7 p.m., Fat Frogg Bar & Grill

• Elon returner Kierre Brown set a new Elon program record on his second kickoff return in Saturday’s game against Duke. Brown’s 18-yard return moved him ahead of the mark of 1,872 set by Rod Clark from 1991-94. Brown’s career total following the game was 2,017 kickoff return yards.
• The Phoenix will have its bye week this weekend before opening its home schedule on Sept. 13 against North Carolina A&T.
• While there will be no weekly luncheon this week, fans can catch up on the latest on the Phoenix at the Elon Football Live Radio Show at the Fat Frogg Bar & Grill on Thursday night from 7-8 p.m. The show will air live on WPCM 95.1 FM and 920 AM and at elonphoenix.com.

Men’s Soccer (1-1)
UNCW Courtyard Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach Classic
Elon vs. Winthrop, Friday, Sept. 5, at 5 p.m., Wilmington, N.C.
Elon vs. Ohio State, Sunday, Spet. 7, at 1 p.m., Wilmington, N.C.

• The Elon men’s soccer team travels to Wilmington, N.C., for its second early-season tournament, the UNCW Courtyard Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach Classic. The Phoenix will face Winthrop on Friday, Sept. 5, and Ohio State on Sunday, Sept. 7.
• Elon split its two matches at the John Rennie/Nike Classic at Duke this past weekend. The Phoenix had a tough 3-2 setback at the hands of Stetson to open the regular-season on Friday, Aug. 29, but rebounded with a 1-0 win over Loyola Marymount on Sunday, Aug. 31.
• The win on Sunday was the first for Elon under first-year head coach Chris Little. Prior to this season, Little had served as an assistant coach for the maroon and gold from 2010-12 and helped Elon to a pair of NCAA Tournament berths.
• Elon’s Miguel Salazar and James Brace were tabbed to the John Rennie/Nike Classic All-Tournament team this past weekend. Salazar scored his first two career goals over the weekend, including the lone goal and game-winner versus Loyola Marymount.

Volleyball (1-2)
Kennesaw State Invitational
Elon at Kennesaw State, Friday, Sept. 5, at 7:30 p.m., Kennesaw, Ga.
Elon vs. No. 8 Purdue, Saturday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m., Kennesaw, Ga.
Elon vs. UNC Asheville, Saturday, Sept. 6, at 5 p.m., Kennesaw, Ga.

• Elon went 1-2 in the opening weekend of the season, claiming a win over San Jose State, in the Elon Phoenix Classic.
• Sophomore Ally Karle helped the Phoenix to a strong defensive effort over the weekend as the maroon and gold out-blocked its opponent in all three matches. Karle led the way with 16 blocks to average 1.45 blocks/set, while also tallying 25 kills.
• Rookie Sydney Busa looked strong in her collegiate debut by posting a double-double against Maryland with 10 kills and 10 digs. The freshman recorded double-digit kills in all three matches to finish the tournament with 31 kills and average 2.82 kills per set.
• The Phoenix will travel to Kennesaw, Ga., this weekend for the Kennesaw State Invitational on Sept. 5 – 6 where it will face KSU, UNC Asheville and No. 8 Purdue.

Women’s Soccer (1-3)
Elon at High Point, Friday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m., High Point, N.C.
Elon at East Carolina, Sunday, Sept. 7, at 1 p.m., Greenville, N.C.

• Elon returns to action this week against instate rivals High Point (Friday) and East Carolina (Sunday).
• Elon went 0-2 last week against 27th-ranked Clemson and 11th-ranked West Virginia.
• The Phoenix saw its streak of 24 matches with a goal snapped on Aug. 29 against Clemson. The last time Elon was shut out prior to this weekend was Nov. 2, 2012, against Georgia Southern in the Southern Conference Tournament semifinals.
