Gate City Soup Bowl: Greensboro Against Guilford

Greensboro College Pride Head Football Coach Bill Young and his coaching staff have the Pride Football Team ready to face cross town rival Guilford in the Annual Gate City Soup Bowl on Saturday, September 6th at 7pm at Guilford. There is a “Big Buzz” on campus, as loads of students will make the trip across town to cheer on The Pride to victory on Saturday night.

All Greensboro fans attending the game are encouraged to wear green and white to show your support for the Pride.

Fans who bring two non-perishable food items to the game, will receive free admission to the game. All items that are donated will given to the Greensboro Urban Ministry. Greensboro and Guilford began this tradition in 1997 and it continues to provide food to many people in need.

The Pride return 8 starters on their potent Offense, led by Co-Captain Quarterback Ryan Thronset, Running Back Warren Scott and Co-Captain Receiver Justin Dukes. Co-Captains Sam Parker and Mart Grinton are part of 7 returning Defensive starters, and are joined by some extremely athletic and talented newcomers to help the Pride Defense become a sound unit.
