GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College dropped a Wednesday afternoon non-conference contest to Greensboro College, 3-0.
Guilford held Greensboro scoreless after the first half, with Greensboro holding a narrow shot advantage, 6-3.
Elizabeth Torres broke the tie in the 50th minute off a pass to the top of the box from Melanie Raton. Allison Gibson added the Pride’s second goal in the 76th minute off a breakaway. Raton claimed her second point of the afternoon with a goal in the 83rd minute from Gibson.
The Pride outshot the Quakers, 15-4, and held the advantage on corner kicks, 8-5.
Becca Banks made five saves in net for the Quakers. Greensboro’s Jessica Thatcher stopped two shots.
The Quakers (0-4-1) return to action Saturday, hosting Randolph-Macon College for an Old Dominion Athletic Conference contest at 12:30 p.m.
