Richmond Senior High got the better of Butler when it mattered most.

The Raiders stormed back from a 15-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat the Bulldogs 55-54 in overtime at Providence High on Saturday, capping a 3 hour, 42 minute marathon of back and forth.

Quintel Goodwin’s 4-yard run in Richmond’s opening overtime possession tied the score at 54 and Brandon Greene connected on the extra point for the win. Butler quarterback Anthony Ratliff-Williams, a North Carolina commit, put the Bulldogs ahead with a 7-yard run, but a missed extra point opened the door for Richmond.
Both teams had stellar play from running backs. Richmond’s Miles Grant ran for 186 yards and four touchdowns on 17 carries while Butler’s Benny LeMay ran for 224 yards and four scores on 20 attempts. LeMay’s 17-yard burst with 1:39 left put the Bulldogs ahead 48-33, but Richmond Senior responded in 70 seconds on a 90-yard kick return from Shevar Little and Miles Grant’s 5-yard run to force overtime.
