College Women’s Soccer Final – Bridgewater 5, Guilford 0

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College dropped a Saturday evening Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest to Bridgewater College, 5-0.

Bridgewater struck first in the 14th minute when Julia Baca received a Keri Rager pass from the right side to strike first. Bridgewater added their second goal in the 22nd minute of a Michelle Viegas corner kick when Kelly Patterson booted the ball inside the six-yard box. The Eagles capped the first half in the 44th minute when Alli Shaffer received a Grayson Matthews cross inside the 18-yard box to increase the lead, 3-0.

Anne Cypriano scored both Eagle goals in the second half, both assisted by Paxton Sauerwald, in the 65th and 76th minutes.

Bridgewater outshot the Quakers, 22-5, and held the edge on corner kicks, 8-1.

Caitlin Young made eight saves in net for the Quakers. Bridgewater’s Hayley Talbott stopped two shots.

Guilford returns to action Wednesday, traveling to Hollins University for a 4:30 p.m. ODAC contest.
