High School Football Saturday Morning rewind:Everybody is drying out after the Friday night rains

Found this piece of info today, as the Guilford College Quakers travel to take on the Shenandoah Eagles, WR Qlyl Middelijn(Greensboro, N.C.), from James B. Dudley High School, is with the Eagles of Shenandoah….

Finding more numbers today on our high school guys we saw some 300 yards games last night and some came in losses and some came in a game where our men were able to win…

In the Southern Guilford-Central Davidson game, SG Storm won in a storm 35-13 and Reggie Gallaspy was held to just 81 yards on 13 carries, but he did cross the goal line 3 times for 3 TD’s and the game was stopped with 7:28 to go in the 4th quarter, due to lightning and rain…Two TD passes for Storm QB Nathan Stoner going to Jeremiah Hedrick for one and to Ron Hunt for the other…

In a losing cause for High Point Central, Jamiel Mack had 300 yards passing and 120 yards rushing with three TD passes and two TD runs..Mack had one TD run of 68 yards and his teammate Geoffrey Walls scored three TD’s…It was a 42-40 game and we have to give some credit to East Forsyth in this one as they had QB Karson Sharpe with 249 yards passing, their receiver Nique Martin had 162 yards and two TD’s, Christian Beal came up with 160 rushing and EF had Naushe Simington with 119 yards on the ground….Chavis Little had 99 yards for HP Central and the two teams combined for over 1,000 yards as you might expect…Lots of key numbers in that game…

Don’t have all the physical numbers on this one but in Dudley’s 30-7 win/victory over Smith, Darius Graves and Connell Young both picked up two touchdowns on runnin plays for the Panthers….Graves and Young both had two-point conversion runs for the Panthers….Big night again for Graves and Young and would like to see some game totals for their rushing efforts if anyone has those handy….

Thomas Hennigan had a touchdown pass and a touchdown reception for the Northwest Guilford Vikings and we also impressed with the job turned in by Carter Mitchell and it was good to see what we have to think was the first TD catch of the season for Weston Haack and this might have been the first TD of his career…A steady job by the Vikings’ QB Josh Homol and it was good to see Alec Cobb back in the Ragsdale lineup and working again for the Tigers…A was mentioned in today’s News and Record, Payton Stull, Cary Miller and Hunter Powell set the tone for the Northwest Guilford defense with their play up front along the line….

In the Southeast Guilford-Page game, courtesy of Alexander Smith, Stephen Baldwin had three touchdowns for SEG and Styles Jennings added two more for the Falcons…Dominick Britt had a big night for Page with two TD passes and two TD runs for the Pirates….

Two TD passes for Southwest Guilford’s Devonte Cross in a losing cause as the Cowboys fall to the Glenn Bobcats….

Jaruis Morhead was doing it again for Eastern Guilford last night with his numbers from the Burlington Times-News:
Jarius Morehead, who was part of three touchdowns, found Bryant Barr for a 26-yard strike and the Wildcats were on their way. Morehead, who played on both sides of the ball, found the end zone late in the first quarter himself when he returned a 65-yard interception for a score.

Bruce Davis had two touchdowns for Grimsley in the Whirlies win over Southern Alamance…Davis ran a punt back for a 73-yard TD and he caught a pass for a 55-yard TD from Grimsley QB Gerald Simpson, who had a TD pass and a TD run for the Whirlies….

If we could get some news on Northern Guilford, I think we would have just about everyone covered here….Maybe some HP Andrews too, to go with the Nighthawks….

Very big games next week include:
Asheboro at Southern Guilford
Northern Guilford at Eastern Guilford
Northwest Guilford at High Point Central
Page at Grimsley
Southwest Guilford at Ragsdale

  1. NWG @ HPC should be a really good game, I feel better because the game is at AJ Simeon. This season HPC seems to play on a whole other level at home versus the road.

Can’t sleep on NW Guilford they have a good defense and offense, the Bison are definitely going to have to play a great game if they want to keep pace with East Forsyth in the conference.
