Elon Volleyball Announces Signing of Terry

ELON, N.C. – Elon head volleyball coach Mary Tendler has announced the signing of Kamberly Terry (Marengo, Ohio/Highland) for the 2015 season.

“Kam will come to campus next fall with a tremendous amount of high level volleyball experience and a focus that parallels our team’s tradition of academic excellence,” said Tendler. “She is an outside hitter that has the height, athleticism and skill to make an immediate impact on our team both at the net and in the back row. We are excited to have Kam and her family be a part of Elon University and our volleyball program.”

Terry, a 5-11 outside hitter, was four-year varsity starter under head coach Rob Terrill at Highland High School. She set the school record for career kills, as well as the single season records for kills (517) and aces (79) and the single match record for kills (36).

Terry helped the team to two central district championships, division championships and regional runner-up titles. During her sophomore season, Terry was named to all-league, all-district and all-area first teams, while also earning DII All-Ohio honorable mention and MOAC player of the year honors. As a junior, she earned division, district and Mount Vernon News Journal player of the year awards and was named to the all-division, all-district and DIII All-Ohio first teams. This past season, Terry earned all-division, all-district and All-Ohio first team honors. She was also named the MOAC Blue Division and DIII Central District Player of the Year. Off the court, Terry is a member of the National Honor Society, a scholar athlete and ranked No. 1 academically in her graduating class.

Kamberly (Kam) is the daughter Nick, a former basketball player at California University of Pa., and Jamie Terry.

Terry will be eligible to play for the Phoenix beginning in the fall of 2015.
