Game Report on Ragsdale-Southern Guilford with Tigers coming back and Quick/Parker lead the scoring

Tonight was the season opener for both the Tigers and Storm. The Storm came out rolling and led by 10 at halftime, and pushed the lead to as much as 17 points halfway through the 3rd quarter. At that point, the Tigers settled down and finally began chipping away at their deficit, cutting it to a 4 point game at the start of the 4th quarter. The last frame was back and forth the entire way with both teams trading the lead numerous times. After a key steal, Ragsdale called timeout with 10.1 seconds remaining, down one point 54-53. Sophomore point guard Jarious Drayton drove into the paint and scored over two Storm defenders to take a 55-54 lead with 1.1 seconds remaining. Southern Guilford called timeout to set up a last second full court play, and the Storm’s Chris Denning got off a shot which hit the front of the rim and bounced off, sealing the remarkable come from behind win for the Tigers.

Ragsdale improves to 1 – 0 overall. Southern Guilford drops to 0 – 1 overall.
