Trice Steps Down As Greensboro College Director of Athletics And Head Men’s Soccer Coach

GREENSBORO, NC – Greensboro College Athletics Director and Director of Soccer John Trice recently announced his resignation to pursue an opportunity at his alma mater James Madison University.

Trice came to Greensboro College in 2011 as the head men’s soccer coach before being appointed to the Director of Athletic position in 2012.

During his coaching tenure, Trice led the Pride to and overall record of 40-25-11 while going 21-9-3 in USA South Athletic Conference play. Trice returned the Pride men to the top of the USA South Athletic Conference in his four seasons at the helm reaching the USA South Conference Championship twice, winning the title in 2013 and securing a bid to the NCAA Division III National Tournament. This past season the Pride won the 2014 USA South Regular Season Title before falling just short of their third consecutive championship game appearance.

Along with his duties as head men’s soccer coach Trice also served as the Director of Athletics for the Pride since the 2012 season. Under the direction of Trice, Greensboro College Athletic Department has developed an award winning relationship with Special Olympics of Greensboro. Trice has also served as a mentor to the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
