Hinds Community College duel-threat quarterback James Summers has signed his National Letter of Intent to play his college football at East Carolina University.

James has spent the past two seasons quarterbacking Hinds Community College, down in Hinds, Mississippi and prior to that he played one year for the Hargrave Military Academy(Prep School) and back in high school, here in Greensboro, James was the QB that led the Page Pirates to the NCHSAA 4-AA State Football Title in 2011, helping Page top teams like Matthews Butler and Mallard Creek along the way and that year(2011), Page was a perfect (15-0) on their way to the state crown….

James can run it and he can pass it and that makes him a legitimate dual-threat quarterback….We will get some of his Hinds numbers up here in a few…..

Wishing James Summers the best on his next stop in Greenville, N.C., as the QB for the East Carolina Pirates…..

    I am happy to see a young man not let go of the dream. He was not where he needed to be with his education at Page (which the school system should really think about) but this young man continued to work in the classroom while keeping his eyes on getting to a place like ECU. The ECU coach would seem like a perfect fit for a story such as what Mr Summers has went through. I hope this is only the beginning of a beautiful ending.
