Two-alarm fire at Ron Rivera’s home early Monday morning, but Carolina Panthers’ coach and family safe

It has been a crazy season for the Carolina Panthers….At one time the team was at 3-8-1 and had been written off for dead, and now they are 8-8-1 and headed toward the second round of the NFL playoffs, plus you had that crazy wreck involving quarterback Cam Newton and now comes the fire that created a blaze that attempted to take down Coach Ron Rivera’s home/house….

The Charlotte home of Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera caught fire early Monday morning, turning into a two-alarm blaze before being put out.

The family was home at the time, but no injuries were reported.

Charlotte Fire Capt. Rob Brisley said there was significant damage to the roof and attic of the home.

“It’s a busy week ahead for the city of Charlotte, including this family, who is devastated by the fire,” Brisley said. “Early indications are this is an accidental fire.”
