Game Report: Boys Basketball – Glenn at Southwest Guilford

The Cowboys of Southwest played host to conference foe Glenn High School. Entering conference play, the Cowboys are looking to get back to their winning ways.

The Cowboys came out quickly and forced the tempo with good team defense and jumped ahead 12-2 by the 5:15 mark. By the 3:30 mark it was 20-7, and the first frame ended with the Cowboys doubling up the Bobcats 30-15.

Southwest maintained control with a solid team effort that Cowboy fans have become accustomed to and were up 51-25 going into the break.

The team quickness of the Cowboys was just too much for the Bobcats to make any attempt to claw back into it as the third quarter was when the margin increased to 73-34 going into the final frame.

A three pointer in the first possession by the Cowboys triggered the running clock rule, and the from there Southwest cruised into an 82-44 conference victory moving to 2-0 in the Piedmont Triad 4A.

Glenn was paced by PJ McCloud and Chryshawn Lindsey with 12 apiece.

The Cowboys got a great team effort on both sides of the ball, with great movement and energy. Southwest was led by Orlando Smith with 21,4 Asts, 3 Rebs, Kam Langley with 14, 7 Rebs, 6 Asts, 2 Stls, 2 Chrgs, Ben Ferguson with 12, 3 Rebs, 2 Asts, KJ Langley with 11, 2 Stls, 2 Asts.

The Cowboys return to action next Friday night when the hit the road to square off against rival Ragsdale.
