Game Report on Vandalia Christian-GC Heat Boys Basketball:Alston, Dunn and Gordon lead VCS Vikings

Vandalia Christian School Boys Vikings played a tough road non-conference game tonight against the Guilford Home Educators (GC-Heat).
At first glance of both teams during warm-up, you would have thought Vandalia would get beat down low. The Heat had 3 kids over 6’5, one kid 6’7, 6’6 and 6’5. But the Vikings persevered and played a very tough fast pace game.

Cameron Alston lead the Vikings with 30 points and 10 assists with Vandalia beating the Heat 85-81. A game that came down to the last possession and good defense was definitely a great game to watch. A game of runs, Bryson Gordon started the Vikings off with 2 Threes and 13 points in the first half, ending up with 15 for the game. The 3rd quarter was a great quarter for Cameron Alston. at one point in a span of 2 minutes, Alston made 5 consecutive 3s, and Noah Dunn assisted almost every one.

Dunn finished with 21 points, 11 Assists and 10 Rebounds. The Vikings were led with great defense from Jared Talley, Matt Hobbs, Tyler Peretiatko, and Tyler Crook. Each player did their job and were great role players for the Vikings.

The Heat were led in scoring by A. King, he had 19 points and 10 RBs. At one point in the game the Heats PG I. Ashley was driving in and making big plays. He ended up with 15 points and 6 Assists.

With the win, The Vikings move to 15-2 and still 6-0 in conference. The Vikings travel to Alamance Christian for a tough conference game this Tuesday Jan. 20th.
