Falvino Tabbed As Next Greensboro College Pride Head Men’s Soccer Coach

GREENSBORO, NC – On Thursday morning, Greensboro College Director of Athletics Bryan Galuski named former Greensboro College men’s soccer standout Tony Falvino as the Pride’s new Head Men’s Soccer Coach.

“Today is a great day for our men’s soccer program,” said AD Galuski. ” It is my pleasure to welcome Tony Falvino back to Greensboro College as our new head men’s soccer coach. As a GC graduate and distinguished player, Tony has an understanding of what it means to be a student-athlete at Greensboro College. He brings a wealth of coaching experience and a tremendous passion for student-athletes, the game of soccer, and our campus community. I am confident Coach Falvino will continue improvement of this strong and developing program.”

“Being an alum makes leading the Greensboro College men’s soccer program all the more special and I appreciate Coach Galuski allowing me this opportunity,”Falvino said. ” I am looking forward to getting to work with the team and recruiting.”

Falvino comes to Greensboro College from Davidson College where he served as an Assistant Coach for the Wildcats since the 2012 season. Prior to joining the Wildcats staff, Falvino worked at Francis Marion University, Wingate University, and High Point University.

“Working alongside some great coaches in well-run programs has prepared me for this opportunity. Especially, I would like to thank Coach Spear and the Davidson College staff for allowing me to work in that program for the past three seasons. The experience was invaluable to me and the lessons learned will be long lasting,” said Falvino.

Falvino graduated from Greensboro College in 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Sports Studies before receiving his Master’s Degree in Sports Administration from Wingate University in 2010.

During his four years as a member of the Pride men’s soccer team, Falvino earned All-Region honors while being named the USA South Athletic Conference Rookie of The Year in 2002 and the Conference Player of The Year in 2005. Falvino was also named a member of the USA South Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer 50th Anniversary Team in 2013.
