RICHMOND, Va. – Freshman Hannah Olson of the Elon University softball team was tabbed as the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday, Feb. 24.
Olson helped the Phoenix go 4-0 at the Citrus Classic in Orlando, Fla., last weekend. The Yorktown, Va., native batted a team-best .545 (6-for-11) with three runs scored, a double and a pair of RBI. She also had a .636 slugging percentage and an on-base percentage of .643.
She concluded the weekend with a 3-for-3 performance against Atlantic Coast Conference foe Virginia with a RBI and a run scored to help the Phoenix to an 8-6 win over the Cavaliers.
This is the second CAA weekly accolade for Olson this season as the first-year player also was honored as the league’s Rookie of the Week on Feb. 10.
