College Women’s Basketball News – Guilford Pair Wins All-ODAC Honors:Congratulations Brittany Drew (Page HS)

SALEM, Va. – Guilford College’s Brittany Drew (Greensboro, N.C./Page) and Anais Weatherly (Winston-Salem, N.C./Mount Tabor) earned Second Team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball recognition Thursday night. The selections were made by the league’s head women’s basketball coaches and announced at the annual ODAC Tournament Banquet at the Salem Civic Center.


Brittany Drew

Drew, a 5-3 senior guard, is Guilford’s second-leading scorer (9.4 ppg.) and top three-point shooter. She has made 31-of-97 shots from beyond the arc and her 32.0 percent shooting percentage stands 14th in the league. Drew also ranks among the ODAC’s top-20 leaders in assists and assist-to-turnover ratio. She has scored in double figures 11 times this year, including a career-high 20-point showing in the Quakers’ Jan. 21 victory over Emory & Henry College.

Drew is tied for third in school history with 110 career appearances and has scored 864 points in those games. Her 108 career three-pointers stand seventh in school history.


Anais Weatherly

Weatherly, a 5-10 sophomore forward, leads the Quakers in scoring, rebounding and steals with totals that stand among the league’s best. Her scoring average (14.3 ppg.) ranks eighth in the league and rebounding average (8.9 rpg.) ranks third. She tops the conference with 85 offensive rebounds and is second with 67 steals. Weatherly stands third in the ODAC with 10 double-doubles and she won the ODAC’s Player of the Week Award Feb. 23. She scored 18 points in a Feb. 18 road win over Emory & Henry followed by a career-high 32-point showing in Guilford’s Feb. 21 upset of regionally ranked Lynchburg College.

Coach Stephanie Flamini’s Quakers (17-9) opened this week’s ODAC Tournament with a 74-28 win over Hollins University Tuesday, which set up a quarterfinal match Friday (2/27) at 3:00 p.m. versus Virginia Wesleyan College.
