RICHMOND, Va. – Elon softball freshman pitcher Kiandra Mitchum was named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office on Wednesday, March 11.
This is the second CAA weekly honor for Mitchum this season after the Mechanicsville, Va., native went 3-1 last week for the Phoenix. She posted a 0.65 ERA in her 21.2 innings of action while holding opponents to a .188 average while picking up wins against Campbell, NC State and Lafayette.
Mitchum was also the league’s Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 10 and is tied for the CAA-lead in wins with six. She has a 2.37 ERA in 47.1 innings this year.
