Elon’s Beaulac Earns CAA Rookie Baseball Honor

RICHMOND, Va. – The first-ever Elon baseball player to collect CAA Rookie of the Week honors is Nick Beaulac after the sophomore picked up that accolade on Monday, April 20.

Beaulac, who made the first start of his career on Saturday at Towson, went 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA as the Phoenix took two of the three games from the Tigers. The Reston, Va., native struck out a career-best nine hitters in just five innings of work and allowed just one run on two hits. Beaulac fanned five of the first 10 hitters he faced. He struck out the side in both the second and third innings.

On the year, Beaulac is 3-1 with a 4.61 ERA. He has thrown 27.1 innings over 17 appearances and held opponents to a .224 batting average. Beaulac has 39 strikeouts in his rookie season.

The Phoenix will be back in action on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at UNCG.
