A Semi-Final game in the PTC tournament was played at SW Guilford last night between #5 seed Ragsdale and #1 seed East Forsyth last night. In a well played game with brilliant defense from both teams, East Forsyth came out the winner by a 2 – 1 score. East picked up an unearned run in the first inning when Robbie Corlett led off and reached on an error on which he reached second base. A Jacobey Dolesh basehit advanced him to third and he scored on a Matthew Hailey ground out. East went up 2 – 0 in the third on two walks and a basehit which loaded the bases with one out. Robert White lifted a sacrifice fly to center which allowed Dolesh to come home with what would turn out to be the winning run.

Ragsdale would get on the board in the fifth as Cesar Trejo and Corey Brandenburg got back to back base hits with one out which chased starter Brody Lawson. A double steal put runners at second and third and a walk to Alec Cobb loaded the bases. A Bradley Blizzard fly ball out brought in Trejo to cut the lead to 2 – 1, but Rob Rogers, who had come on in relief, got out of the jam with a strike out to end the inning.

Rogers would finish out the game on the mound for East to pick up the save. Ragsdale threatened in the seventh as Brandenburg got a one out double to deep right field, but Rogers stranded him by getting a strike out and a ground out to end the game.

Corey Brandenburg got the start for Ragsdale, his first start of the season and went six innings allowing only one earned run. Brody Lawson was the East starter and he did not allow a hit until there was one out in the fifth.

East Forsyth will now meet the winner of the 7:00 PM game tonight between #3 seed Glenn and #2 seed Northwest Guilford on Thursday night also at 7:00 in the Conference Tournament Championship game. Both games will be played at Southwest Guilford….
