In a 10-5 route, the HiToms struggled against the Redwolves explosive offense

THOMASVILLE, NC, – At the end of a hard fought battle the HiToms fell to the Florence Redwolves 10-5 for their CPL home opener.

In a night where four HiToms pitchers saw action, the explosive Florence offense was too much for the HiToms (0-2) to stop.

In the first three innings Florence took a commanding 6-0 lead. A Grant Schreiver solo homerun prevented the shut out in the bottom of the 5th.

Florence would strike again with two runs in the top of the seventh, which would boost them to a 9-1 lead that would not be given up. The HiToms answered with four runs in the bottom of the 7th and 8th.

Cole Lee tossed a scoreless 9th to hold onto a 10-5 win. Florence is now 2-0 going into tomorrows CPL battle against The Martinsville Mustangs at 7:00 p.m.

The HiToms are on the road tomorrow (5/28) against CPL rival, Asheboro Copperheads, and then back home for Scout Night on Friday (5/29) against the Holly Springs Salamanders for their first visit ever to Finch Field. Game starts at 7:00 p.m.
