Eastern Randolph Post 81 outlasted Hitoms Post 87 on Thursday after six lead changes, squeaking out a 5-3 win.
Eastern Randolph Post 81 pulled out the win thanks to a strong eighth inning. Eastern Randolph Post 81 went up for good on an RBI single by Hunter Curtis off Jake Moebius, scoring Bailey Steed.
Brayden King went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for Eastern Randolph Post 81. He singled in the fifth, seventh, and eighth innings.
Josh Hudson racked up six strikeouts in the Eastern Randolph Post 81 win. Hudson allowed one earned run, six hits and four walks over seven innings.
Moebius was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
The bottom of the second saw Hitoms Post 87 take an early lead, 1-0.
Hitoms Post 87 answered Eastern Randolph Post 81’s top inning with two runs of its own in the seventh. Hitoms Post 87 scored on an RBI single by Moebius and a sacrifice fly by Ryne Stanley.
The eighth spelled defeat for Hitoms Post 87, as Eastern Randolph Post 81 grabbed the lead for good. More runners rounded the bases on an RBI single by King.
