Ryne Yates’s sacrifice fly gives Eastern Randolph Post 81 walk-off win over Randolph County Post 45, 5-4
A walk-off sacrifice fly from Ryne Yates brought home the winning run for Eastern Randolph Post 81 in a 5-4 victory over Randolph County Post 45 on Saturday.
Eastern Randolph Post 81’s Jacob Sipe was perfect at the dish, going 3-3. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the second and fifth innings.
Eastern Randolph Post 81 got the win thanks in large part to DJ Laxton’s dominant, nine-strikeout performance. Eastern Randolph Post 81’s pitcher gave up just five hits over 5 2/3 shutout innings.
Cameron Reid ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
In the top of the second, Randolph County Post 45 grabbed the early lead, 1-0.
