MIAMIThe Marlins are bracing to be without Giancarlo Stanton(Greensboro Grasshoppers), the Major League leader in home runs and RBIs, for about 4-6 weeks due to a broken hamate bone at the base of his left hand.

The injury was sustained on Friday night in Miami’s 7-1 loss to the Dodgers at Marlins Park.

SAN DIEGOOutfielder Wil Myers received promising news on Saturday about the progress of his left wrist following surgery earlier this month.

Myers wasn’t sure of his exact timeline for when he can begin baseball activities, but said it should be from four to six weeks. Interim manager Pat Murphy said that he plans to meet with trainers to get the exact schedule for Myers’ recovery.

“[The doctor] said it looked good, there is no bruising or discoloration. So that is a good sign,” Myers said. “He was very optimistic, so that made me happy.”
