HiToms Win in Holly Springs, 2-0

HOLLY SPRINGS, NC, July 2 – With rainy clouds looming for all of the game, the HiToms improved their road record to 5-10 after a 2-0 win over the Holly Springs Salamanders.

The Tommies struck first when Alec Paradowski (Wofford) came home from a Ryan Hedrick (Presbyterian) single into left field for Hedrick’s fifth RBI of the season.

In the top of the ninth, to add some insurance, Nick Lopez (Creighton) blasted a line drive straight to center that plated Chandler Hall (Louisianan Tech) on a 3-2 count.

Austin Gardner (University of Texas at Arlington) took the win after throwing a complete game shutout allowing no runs off three hits striking out six.

High Point – Thomasville travels to Forest City tomorrow night for a CPL West match up and then comes back home to host Gastonia on Saturday for a Fourth of July show down.
