Down by at least two runs in the bottom of the 7th inning, Greensboro Green battled back to get the win, and they faced 2 outs and the count was at 3-3, but Green kept on fighting and they came back to get the win…Devan Bartley(Southeast Guilford HS) scored the game-winning run….Donnie Strader(Northeast Guilford HS) team manager and Mr. Pruitt and others are at his side(assistant coaches)….They play again at 8pm tonight(Saturday) vs. loser of Roth Brothers(Youngstown, Ohio) and Greensboro White….

PONY Baseball East Zone Tournament in High Point:
Pony results from today: Youth Services, NY scores 2 in the bottom of the 7th to beat High Point 6-5 in a great game. Western Branch, VA beats Davidson County 16-1. In the championship game, Hagerstown, MD scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th to walk off as East Zone Champions over Youth Services, NY 6-5.

How is a kid from SE playing in the Colt tournament? They play junior legion. SE is not even in the Colt League.
Good question, Billy Joe, but LOL, Pony Baseball is corrupt at all levels like so many institititions we used to count on to abide by the rules. Since the individual is not on the team that hs preferred for the trip to Lafayette, even if (not saying he is) the individual(s) is not eligible (no longer prevent dual participation), it will not effect anything. I have been to 5 games, and I would be horrified that they had to use ineligible players to play at the level they do—overall play is not as goid as previous years probanly because there are so many opportunities—American Legion, AAU, USSSA, and travel teams in general. I have seen the CWS 3 out the last 5 years, and mational level of play is way down.
Lots of new teams in Greensboro Colt Baseball this season with EA, WA, Wheatmore, Rockingham County and more…
Lots of changes and no need to lay any bad words on Colt Baseball and their kids…
Could be if a kid does not have team he is allowed to play for another team or given the right to try out for the All-Stars if his school does not have a team in the league…
Reid Holmes knows what is doing with his Greensboro White team and so does Donnie Strader with Greensboro Green….
Holmes is an old Western Guilford man and if can’t trust him, who can you trust….The WG community turns out the best and that is part of our mission…

+++++Did some checking and if your school does not have a Colt team you play for another Colt and usually in most cases, the one closest to your school…That is what happened this year and Dudley is closest to Southeast Guilford and that is where the SEG players go and you can play both Colt and Legion the same Summer…When you Legion season is over you can go play Colt and if you don’t have Colt every day/night, you can play Colt on your Legion off days without questions…That is how the SEG player was able to play for Dudley in the regular season and in the tournament and then make and play for the Colt All-Stars…SEG’s Junior Legion season ended in Round One of the playoffs, just two games and that came the first week of July….Plenty of time to finish the Colt season and then play Colt All-Stars….That is how it went and that is all there is to it and case closed….
We are done with this one and if you want to fight what you see as corruption, how about attending and supporting some of local games and support our local teams instead of trying to cut down our teams and the kids that working hard and you do it from a distance do nothing more than talk…Step and support our Greensboro teams through the thick and thin and it is an effort that requires those who are willing to give an all out effort and not just sit back and bash…
Good luck to the Greensboro White team on Sunday and make us proud….We plan to be there on Sunday to support you as as church is dismissed….
