Robin Welch Named Head Cheerleading Coach

GREENSBORO, NCRobin Welch has been named the next Head Cheerleading Coach at Greensboro College, Director of Athletics, Bryan Galuski announced on Tuesday.

“We are very excited to welcome Robin to our athletic department,” Galuski remarked. “She brings an enormous amount of passion for Greensboro College and tremendous enthusiasm and energy for coaching cheerleading.”

Welch comes to Greensboro College after serving as a Pride cheerleader from 2007-2010. During her four seasons with the Pride, Welch proved to be an integral part of not only the cheerleading team but the Greensboro community in whole. Robin was an active part of the Village 401 service initiative while also serving as a Student Ambassador and Pride Leader. Following her graduation in 2010, Welch also served as a volunteer assistant for the Pride cheerleading team for two seasons.

“I am ecstatic about the opportunity to come back to my Alma Mater to serve as the Head Cheerleading Coach,” Welch stated. “I am also honored that Director of Athletics, Bryan Galuski, has given me this opportunity to share my passion for cheerleading as well as Greensboro College. I look forward to continuing the success that Coach Morgan has instilled in the cheerleading program over the past six seasons.”

Welch earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Education from Greensboro College in 2010. Robin currently serves as an Elementary School Teacher for Guilford County Schools.
