Polk Announces Addition of Jarvis to Elon Cross Country Staff

ELON, N.C. – Elon University head cross country coach Nick Polk announced the addition of Chelsea Jarvis as a volunteer assistant on his coaching staff on Thursday, Aug. 20.

Jarvis arrives after a standout career at West Virginia University as a member of the Mountaineers’ cross country and track and field programs. She graduated with a bachelor degree in exercise science and sport exercise science psychology in 2014 and is currently attending the Elon University School of Law after being a recipient of the Oak Scholarship.

“We are excited to have Chelsea join our cross country program,” said Polk. “She brings a great perspective to the team and can draw from many of her own athletic experiences to help guide the group. She is a great role model for our team as she is balancing the demands of law school and helping to guide the distance runners.”

At West Virginia, Jarvis was an All-Big East and an All-Big 12 Academic recipient as well as a member of the Garrett Ford Honor Roll for eight semesters. She was also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and served as a volunteer coach at the West Virginia Flyers Track Club and the Wapiti Running Club.
