Insley had another opportunity on a free kick in the 34th minute, placed in the same position as her game-winning goal on Friday, Sept. 11 against Coastal Carolina. She took her chance and buried it into the top right corner to give Elon a 1-0 lead.

Right at the start of the second half, White received a pass on the right side inside the 18-yard box and fired home a shot in the 46th minute to tie the match 1-1 and eliminate the Phoenix lead. Despite many shots from both sides in the second half, the match would remain tied heading into overtime.

The first overtime period provided some interesting events. Grace Bennett was taken down in the UNCG box in the 94th minute, what appeared to be a penalty, was not called by the referee. The Phoenix created three chances in the period, including two on goal, but the match went to a second overtime period.

UNCG controlled the chances in the second overtime, and Taylor Mohr had to make a huge save in the 107th minute to preserve the 1-1 draw.
