Volleyball Drops To Conference Matches On Saturday

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Greensboro College volleyball team traveled to Methodist University on Saturday to take on the Monarch of Methodist and the Angels of Meredith College for the second time on the season. The Pride dropped their opening match of the day to Methodist, 3-0, before falling to Meredith, 3-1.

In the match against the Monarchs, Greensboro fell by scores of 25-16, 25-11, and 25-21.

Breana Baker, Shayla Moss, and Brandy Johnson each recorded a team high four kills in the match while Evan Sherer added three of her own. Tori Belcher led the way in the dig category with 20.

After dropping the opening match of the day to Methodist, Greensboro then wrapped up the afternoon with a 3-1 defeat against Meredith College. The set scores were 25-15, 15-25, 23-25, and 13-25.

This time, Megan Baranko led the way for Greensboro with eleven total kills along with three assisted blocks. Shayla Moss was not far behind her Pride teammate as she was credited with nine kills.

Darrian Bolt tallied 19 assists in the match against the Angels while Haley Borher had 18. Once again, Belcher led the way in defensive digs.

“We may have started slow today, but we rebounded to play some good volleyball,” stated Head Coach Kaci Pike. “We are still growing and developing in a positive direction.”
