College Women’s Soccer Final – Randolph-Macon 3, Guilford 0

ASHLAND, Va. – Randolph-Macon College’s Bridget Panas scored the Yellow Jackets’ first two goals of the contest as Guilford College dropped a Saturday afternoon Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest, 3-0.

Both teams traded spurts of offensive opportunities in the first 12 minutes before Panas capitalized on a turnover after taking her own corner kick with a shot from the right box in the 14th minute to claim the early advantage.

Both teams quietly traded opportunities again in the first ten minutes of the second half when Panas struck again in the 57th minutes outside the 18-yard box to extend the lead, 2-0. Lindsay Hall added an insurance goal in the 76th minute off a header thanks to a feed from Sam Tyler.

Randolph-Macon held the shot advantage, 25-9, and claimed the edge on corner kicks, 10-2.

Maggie Albert made seven saves in net for the Quakers with Cheyenne Grim relieving Albert in the final 8:01 of the contest, making one save. Elizabeth Blanco stopped four shots in net for Randolph-Macon.

The Quakers (5-8-1, 2-5 ODAC) return home Wednesday, hosting Roanoke College in a 4 p.m. ODAC contest inside Appenzeller Field at Armfield Athletic Center.
