GLADSTONE, MO— Tom Parker, public address announcer for Southwest Guilford High School athletics, has received a prestigious national award.
Parker has been named the 2014-15 Bob Sheppard High School P.A. Announcer of the Year by the National Association of Sports Public Address Announcers (NASPAA). Bob Sheppard was the stadium announcer for the New York Yankees for 57 years, and is considered to be the best sports P.A. announcer ever.

He is our football and baseball P.A. announcer. Tom has been announcing for 19 years. We are very lucky to have him as our P.A. announcer.”
“The NASPAA is proud to name Tom Parker the 2014-15 Bob Sheppard High School P.A. Announcer of the Year Award recipient,” remarked Brad Rumble, NASPAA Executive Director. “The Award is predicated on the high professional P.A. announcing standard of Mr. Sheppard, which Tom exhibits. He is truly a class act.”
