Many people have been waiting to hear where Bam Adebayo wanted to go to play collegiate basketball.

He is the #6 ranked player in the current senior class. He is only behind Harry Giles and Dennis Smith Jr. as the best player from this incredible state.

Harry and Dennis are currently recovering from injury, so it is safe to say that Bam is currently the best high school basketball player in the state of North Carolina.

Many North Carolinians were hoping that Bam would stay in the state and play at NC State or Wake Forest. Others wanted him to go to play at Auburn, Kansas, or Missouri. Bam did not decide to do that though. He committed to play for Coach John Calipari at Kentucky.

He announced that he would play for Kentucky on Tuesday morning on the Mike and Mike Show on ESPNnews. After Bam’s decision, Kentucky passed Duke for the best recruiting class of 2016. He joined fellow 5-star recruits Malik Monk (#5 ranked player in the country), De’Aaron Fox (#7 ranked player in the country), and Wenyen Gabriel (#23 ranked player in the country) to commit to Kentucky.

Kentucky also picked up a 4-star recruit Sacha Killeya-Jones (#31 ranked player in the country), who is from Chapel Hill, NC.

Bam has been excited about his future at Kentucky via Twitter!
Here are a few of his tweets:
“KENTUCKY GANGGGGG”
“LETS GO KENTUCKY”

How did Bam celebrate that he was going to play at Kentucky? Last night, High Point Christian played against New Garden Friends. Bam put up a monster game! He had 22 points, 17 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks, and 3 steals in a 81-39 win.
