Elon Women’s Golf Announces 2016 Spring Slate

ELON, N.C. – Elon women’s golf and head coach Chris Dockrill has announced its spring schedule today, Dec. 2, which consists of six tournaments in four different states.

“We are very excited about the competitive schedule coming up this fall, said the 16th-year head coach Dockrill. “We finished as the second-best team in the conference after the fall season and our schedule will prepare us well for the conference championships in April.”

The Phoenix will open its spring slate at the Eagle Invitational hosted by Florida Gulf Coast in Fort Myers, Fla., Feb. 12-14, at Stonebrook Golf Club.

Elon’s next event will be the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate hosted by fellow CAA member, College of Charleston on Feb. 28 – March 1, at the Kiawah Island Osprey Plantation in Kiawah, S.C.

Later in March, the Phoenix will head to Florida for the second time to take part in the Ocala Spring Citrus Challenge hosted by Morehead State. The tournament will be played March 20-22 at the Red Tail Golf Club in Sorrento, Fla.

The following weekend, Elon will go to Atlanta, Ga. to compete in the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate hosted by Georgia State University, March 27-29, at Eagles Landing Country Club.

In the month of April, the Phoenix returns to North Carolina to compete in two tournaments. They begin with the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate, April 3-4, hosted by Appalachian State University at the Mimosa Hills Golf Club.

Elon will wrap up the month with the CAA Women’s Golf Championships. The conference championship event will be held April 15-17, at the St. James Plantation in Southport, N.C.
