College Women’s Swimming Results – Guilford Wraps Up at Yellow Jacket Invitational

RICHMOND, Va. – Guilford College’s women’s swimming team concluded competition at the Yellow Jacket Invitational Saturday at the Collegiate School Aquatic Center. The Quakers’ three swimmers did not score in the two-day meet hosted by Randolph-Macon College.

The Quakers’ Nina Troy placed 37th in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of one minute, 18.85 seconds. She swam the 200 breaststroke in 3:01.23, good for 32nd place. Teammate Peri Thomson came home 67th in the 200 freestyle in 3:34.19. Guilford sophomore Isabel Gutierrez had the 27th-fastest 100 breaststroke time (1:20.46) and claimed 48th place in the 100 freestyle with a 1:03.38 clocking.

Coach Amanda Fontenot’s team is back in action January 22 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference tri-meet at Greensboro College with Hollins University.
