Graham Sporting Goods High School Basketball Tonight for (12/12/15):NWG girls wheeling and dealing at (6-0)

Northwest Guilford girls basketball is off to a start of 6 wins and 0 losses for 2015 and in their last two games they have defeated Western Guilford 68-18 back on Thursday and today the Lady Vikings knocked off Wilmington Hoggard 40-19…The Vikings are wheeling and dealing and this team if looking very appealing if you like teams with a shot at the Myers Parks and Ardrey Kells of the NCHSAA basketball world, as this season moves towards March…

Northwest Guilford will keep on marching on and again their final score today was:
Northwest Guilford 40, Wilmington Hoggard 19….
NWG (6-0) and led by seniors Hayley Barber, Toni Tucker, Morgan Pointer, Savannah Neas and Catherine Moore…Plus the sophomore Bria Gibbs and the up-and-coming freshmen Elizabeth Kitley and Cayla King….And don’t forget little Lindsay and Harkey there to help too….

Would love to get some scores on what the girls did vs. Hoggard today…..
Here are those scoring totals courtesy of one of good readers here at the site and interesting to see the freshman guard Cayla King leading the team in scoring today, first this year I remember seeing that and it just shows how deep this team really is….Play on….

Cayla King 15pts
Toni Tucker 8pts
Hayley Barber 6pts
Morgan Pointer 6pts
Savannah Neas 3pts
Makayla Harkey 2pts

*****Northwest Guilford girls got off to an (28-0) start to last before their 58-38 season-ending loss to the Myers Park Mustangs, in the NCHSAA 4-A West Regional Finals….*****

  1. Cayla King 15pts
    Toni Tucker 8pts
    Hayley Barber 6pts
    Morgan Pointer 6pts

  2. They got off to a 28-0 start last year cause they didn’t play any worth a rip. Looks like they play my Panthers at least once this Thursday. If NW can win their first game of Haeco they will play the Panthers again. Don’t be surprised if the vikings have 2 defeats by the end of the month.

  3. Last year NW played several good teams during the regular season such as Northern and Greensboro Day. They beat GDS in the HAECO and Northern 3 times (including the HAECO championship game). The NW conference did not provide any competition other than a SW team that did not have the horses needed to play NW. The Dudley team from last year could have provided some competition for NW but I seriously doubt this years version will be within 20 points. Dudley basically has one girl carrying them. They are this years version of GDS from last year. One player will not be enough to beat a great team. NW’s was only beaten by a complete team last year in Myers Park which was ranked 12th in the country and loaded with high D1 talent. Dudley has one D1 player and NW has at least 6 current/future college players. I am glad to see Dudley back in mix but they are not the Dudley of the old days so don’t put something on them that they can’t live up to.

  4. NW has already played and will play several teams this year worth playing from different parts of the state from locally, Wilmington and in Charlotte. Why would a Dudley fan think their team is playing better competition. Dudley should be more concerned about dealing with SE this year. SE will win the metro by 3 games. Predicted finish for the metro – #1 SE, #2 Dudley, #3 Page, #4 Grimsley and #5 Smith. Dudley fans need to keep it real until they actually beat somebody this year. I guess the Dudley fans will be the Page fans from year always talking about what they will do but can never back it up. Last year Page was going to beat NW, Northern, GDS, Dudley and SE according to their fans early on but as the season went on the reality of the year hit. Go ahead and tell us Dudley fan who all Dudley will actually beat this year so we can draw a line in the sand. I know the majority of Dudley fans know what to expect but unfortunately we will always have to hear from the one or two crazy fans from Dudley and Page.

  5. Funny NW fan addressed the panther comment about playing tougher competition this year (strong private school in Charlotte and a top 15 state ranked team in Wilmington, plus Nw travels to north surry Tuesday) they play Dudley this year possibly twice. Too bad Dudley is one of the weaker teams and will hurt nw strength of schedule. Go check maxxpreps and currently Nw has a top strength of sched. The fact of the matter is last year was last year and Nw schedule was weaker, but when teams like northern only will play nw once and SE dropped Nw completely, Nw is doing what they need to do to get solid competition in. Lastly Nw has has a state top 3a team in east Davidson in feb. Post and check facts don’t get on her posting your emotions.

  6. In the end, whether NW loses to Dudley or not won’t matter. It is highly unlikely it will happen, but it won’t make a difference. This year’s NW team is stronger, faster and deeper. This NW team has the best shot at bringing a State title to Guilford county than any team in the county has in years! No team with 1, 2, or even 3 good players will give this team much competition. At all times, there are a good, solid 5 on the floor who can and will light it up. Hard to stop a team when you can’t focus on just 1or 2 players.

  7. How does a conversation about teams and who can beat who turn into a conversation or comments about rednecks or thugs? To “Dear Dudley fan” and “Panther Prowl” – both of you are stupid idiots. You should keep the talk about what happens on the court and not assume who’s writing these post. We are talking about games with kids not adults or a professional league. Talk it up, have fun but keep it family friendly.

  8. Unfortunately, NWG will be a rough game for anyone in this area this year and for most teams in the state. I know my girls are going to give it their all but it will take a unbelievable game to pull the upset!!!

  9. NW has the deepest team I have seen in a long team. They have 10 kids that can score. Most girl’s teams only have 1 or 2. This is the best team I have seen since the Dudley team led by Helen Terry and company. Just enjoy watching them play because it is hard to get this much talent on one public school team.
