HIGH POINT, N.C. – High Point University women’s basketball team’s freshman Emma Bockrath was named the Big South Freshman of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Bockrath paced the team with a season-high 18 points while drilling the game-winning free throws with three seconds left in the victory over Coastal Carolina. She followed that up with 14 points and five assists as the team picked up its first road win at Campbell on Sunday.
Led by Bockrath, the team’s seven freshman scored 101 of the 122 of the teams points during the two-game winning streak. For the week, the Kettering, Ohio native tallied 16.0 points and 5.0 assists per contest.
The Purple & White are back in action on Tuesday night at Winthrop at 7:00 p.m.
